Having risen to the top of the US pizza market with its 'Better Ingredients Better Pizza' pledge, Papa John's is expanding its UK network with the aim of establishing its pizza as the nation's favourite. Rachel Spaul reports
Pizza franchise Papa John's has seen its weekly online sales figure reach £100,000 for the first time. This record sales figure demonstrates a 178 per cent increase from 2006's weekly average and mirrors the company's achievement on the other side of the Atlantic. In the US the company managed to break the $1 billion mark for online sales in the first week of May.
Pizza chain franchise Papa John's has won the Marketing Society Achievement Award (SME). Papa John's received the award at a ceremony in London in recognition of its online growth, which saw its web-based sales increase by over 500 per cent in 12 months, meaning that 20 per cent of the company's transactions are now handled this way.
