Autosheen raised hundreds of pounds for the charity on the day and even
stretched their service to ensure the local Fire Engines and Police Patrol
Cars were valeted and ready for action! They set up a dedicated charity
valeting marquee at the Police Family Fun Day that took place at the
Bedfordshire Police HQ playing fields, on Sunday, at the entrance of the
Police HQ, along Woburn Road. Despite persistent rain clouds and wind, the
Autosheen team set to work by providing a class A premium valeting service
at a special discounted rate for all visitors on the day - with the purpose
of raising as many funds as possible for the Road Victims Trust - a charity
supporting those bereaved, or otherwise affected, by road death, or
life-changing injuries, specifically for those living in the wider
Bedfordshire area.
Local statistics sourced by the Road Victims Trust (RVT) charity, based in
Kempston, have revealed a rise in road traffic collisions compared to 2006
figures - with an alarming 15 fatalities during 2007 to date. Latest figures
highlight that each year over 3400 die on roads in England in total and a
person is seriously injured every 20 minutes. In Bedfordshire and Luton over
30 people are killed and 250 seriously injured every year.
At the same time, Autosheen is celebrating the recent launch of its
expansion into the local area of Bedfordshire - covering Luton and Bedford.
This regional expansion comes as welcome news to local businesses and in
particular Fleet Drivers, Operation Managers and business co-coordinators
that are charged with the responsibility of business travel for their
particular organisations. The Autosheen business service encompasses the
following:
- Full fleet management valeting solution
- Can help generate a secondary income and create a revenue stream by
providing valeting on your behalf - to your client base
- Cost control and quality management systems (ISO 9000 / 2001 &14001
accredited)
Andy Truswell, Autosheen Bedfordshire Manager commented:
"We are delighted to announce that Autosheen managed to raise hundreds of
pounds for the Road Victims Trust with this dedicated charity valeting
exercise. Every penny raised is critical. Our dedicated team of expert
valeters braved the bad weather to clean up the streets of Bedfordshire, by
ensuing vehicles were valeted to the highest standard and by also raising
important funds to support those affected by road traffic collisions in the
local Bedfordshire area."
"Maggie Garside, Co-ordinator for the Road Victims Trust stated:
"We really appreciated the support of Autosheen at the Police Family fun
day. The money donated by their charity valet will ensure we can continue
offering support to people living in Bedfordshire and Luton who have had
their lives changed forever by a serious road collision. We can not change
what has happened but we can bear to hear and witness the awful pain that
families suffer following such a tragedy.
Garside continued: "Our role is to support people back to living a life that
still has meaning although it will never be the same as before the death or
life-changing injury. Without the support of companies like Autosheen we
would not be able to continue. Thank you to everyone at Autosheen who were
involved."
