Belvoir Lettings, the UK's largest franchise dealing exclusively with property rental, recently celebrated franchisees' successes with awards to acknowledge their individual achievements. Announcing the winners on the eve of their national conference, Mike Goddard, Belvoir's co-founder and CEO, congratulated everyone on their significant contributions to the network's overall progress, which now has 92 offices and a further seven about to open.
Peterborough franchisee Terry Lucking received two accolades - as Belvoir's 'Franchisee of the Year' and for making the most outstanding contribution to the network. Mike Goddard says: "Terry's success has been incredible - his is the fastest overall development in our history. He has also taken great interest in the franchise, having twice been Chairman of our franchisees' Networking Group covering more than four years. He is a representative on the British Franchise Association's Franchisee Forum and also serves on the committee of The Guild of Lettings and Management."
Terry became a franchisee in 1999 after a career in the food industry spanning 22 years. He says: "I wanted to be in a positive industry that was expanding, not consolidating or contracting, and where people are valued for their skills and abilities. I didn't want to waste time setting up and trialling my own systems. With franchising someone has done it all before, so it's tried and tested."
'Record breaker of the year' is Paul Collins, Lincoln franchisee with the highest consistent growth throughout the year, breaking the record he set in 2005. Paul was Belvoir's fourth franchisee and has consistently increased turnover every year. He is the only person to smash the record two years running.
Andover franchisees, Phil Pinkney and Greg Greatbatch, won the award for the 'Most Improved Office', having bought an existing outlet in 2005 and tripled its turnover in just one year.
Carol and Warren Wadeson, Rugby franchisees, have received the award for the 'Most Outstanding Customer Care' in recognition of their high standards and exemplary customer care. Rick Flay, Sheffield, is the 'New Franchisee of the Year', having broken all previous records for his first eight months' trading.
