MP visits local ComputerXplorers franchise

Midlands-based children’s computer education franchise ComputerXplorers received a special visit from Bosworth’s MP David Tredinnick. David (pictured above, left, with ComputerXplorers Managing Director Nigel Toplis) joined children from Battling Brook Primary School in their clay animation class to see how the franchise is helping children improve their IT skills.

"I am delighted to be able to meet the children and find out what they do in this class," comments David. "IT has such an important role to play in developing children's confidence and their ability to learn. I would like to see this kind of initiative in more schools."

ComputerXplorers offers a variety of weekly classes to children aged three to 13 from basic IT skills to game design, clay animation and digital photography. Classes are taught in local community venues including schools, nurseries and holiday clubs.

"The Government has prioritised the improvement of ICT skills amongst school age children so there couldn't be a better time for an initiative like ComputerXplorers," says Nigel. "Children have so much fun at ComputerXplorers sessions they do not realise how much they are learning. Schools love the programmes ComputerXplorers offers because they are cross referenced with the National Curriculum. This means ComputerXplorers is able to provide sessions, which complement school computer lessons."
