Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA): Competition winners announced
Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA) has announced the winners of its competition, with the three lucky winners collecting a Sony Digital Camcorder. An excellent response was received, with readers of The Franchise Magazine and attendees of the National Franchise Exhibition in Birmingham last October registering in high numbers. All entrants had to correctly answer a single question about the earning performance of an ERA franchise and to identify the highest recorded income of an ERA franchisee in their first year of trading. The correct answer, identified by most entrants, was over £90,000.
The first name correctly drawn was Angela Duncan of Glasgow. Angela, a Project Manager in the banking sector, was delighted to receive her camcorder as she and her husband were considering buying one in the January sales. "I bought The Franchise Magazine as a friend of mine runs a successful franchised business so I thought I would like to find out more about the opportunities that exist," she says. "I found the article about ERA extremely interesting and requested further information. I thought I had nothing to lose by entering the competition, but when ERA called to let me know I had won I was still really surprised. I'm still employed at the moment but am keen to move into franchising as my next career move."
David Asamoah was the next name drawn. David, who runs a property business in London, attended the National Franchise Exhibition. When contacted by ERA, David commented: "I was surprised at how many different franchises exist. I had no idea that such a great range of business types were covered by franchising. I came away with many ideas and am perhaps looking, with my brother, to start a retail venture. I thought the ERA proposition was smart and the company is clearly very successful and I spoke to a franchisee at the exhibition who was clearly very happy and achieving a lot. I was delighted to receive the Digital Camcorder, it is an excellent model and my young daughter has already made great use of it to record her dancing practice!"
The final winner was Shelly Peters from Kent, who is currently is hoping to purchase a franchise in late 2007. Shelly, who works in London in the print industry, is keen to be her own boss and is very drawn to ERA having seen the success of many of the females in the ERA network. "I really am excited about starting my own business and feel much more comfortable with franchise models," she says. "I want to start my business late in 2007 as I have decided to leave work and take some time out to travel before beginning my new business. "This camera will come in very handy for my trip."
