Following the launch of its first eight speciality pasty shops, the Morris Pasties franchise team has spent several months analysing, evaluating and revisiting where necessary elements of the franchise programme to improve the operation and sales offering. The company is now ready to recruit its second wave of franchisees and is seeking more motivated team players.

Morris Pasties has some great success stories to point to. Franchisees Alan and Sharon Lloyd exceeded projections for their first month trading within just 14 days of opening their unit in Milton Keynes shopping centre, and are currently ahead of targets by 50 per cent. Alan elaborates: "We have a good product in the right location with good customer service. The shop opened on 16th December 2005 to a fantastic response that was well above expectations. Security had to cordon off part of the shopping centre because of the queue."

Alan and Sharon are currently looking to open more Morris Pasties outlets and are working hard with the management team in order to identify and secure suitable premises.

Dave and Elaine Smith are the newest Morris Pasties franchisees. In their first weekend their Allerton Road, Liverpool store exceeded sales figures projected for the entire month. Dave and Elaine were introduced to the Morris Pasties franchise opportunity through a recommendation from specialist franchise consultancy Franchise Development Services. After travelling to Cornwall to meet Directors Chris and Alison Morris, and visiting the production facility, they decided that Morris Pasties was the franchise for them.

With a Cornish heritage spanning more than 30 years, a franchise operation developed by a leading franchise consultant, and ongoing advice and development during the important first phase, Morris Pasties is ideally placed for further expansion and to take advantage of the expanding pasty market.

"Our pasties are still made in the traditional way," reveals Chris. "We have our own high quality butcher's shop and the ability to source the finest Cornish meats and vegetables from local farmers, so all ingredients have full traceability and all pasties are hand layered and hand crimped."

Little wonder that the Daily Telegraph described Morris Pasties as 'probably the finest pasties in Cornwall'.

Franchisees are not expected to make the specialty pasties themselves, as experience has shown that pasties cook best from frozen. The baking process has been simplified to achieve easy, consistent results. Morris Pasties has also complemented their pasty range with other quality products such as Fair Trade organic coffee, premium sandwiches and various freshly baked pastries and cakes, all designed to give maximum profitability to franchisees.

Morris Pasties' philosophy is to support franchisees every step of the way and the franchise package reflects this. Franchisees receive support in approval of premises, in-store and classroom training covering product knowledge, baking techniques, administration procedures, in addition to business management.

As the second phase of development begins, Morris pasties is looking for motivated and enthusiastic team players who want to be part of the building of a nationally recognised brand and wish to work with a franchisor who is committed to offering help and support and to providing high quality products and customer service.
