Working in a range of sectors including utilities, care and mobility, housing, retail and household insurers, Local Services is establishing firm partnerships with many major businesses offering reliable 'fixed price' property maintenance solutions across the nation.

High profile TV programmes such as Rogue Traders and Watchdog have highlighted the danger of engaging the services of unknown 'dodgy' tradesman resulting in a huge growth in plumbing and drains care-type policies, which haven't previously existed. Traditionally offered to consumers on the reverse of a utility bill it is estimated that around 30 per cent of the UK now have this type of cover, which clearly indicates the demand for a trusted and branded plumbing and electrical service.

While building relationships with insurers it became increasingly clear to us that the service received when customers claim on these policies leaves a lot to be desired. Insurers obviously don't deal with the claims themselves choosing instead to outsource. We found that customers were often waiting days if not weeks for someone to attend and when they did they quite often received shoddy workmanship from a dishevelled looking individual in an un-signwritten van which reflects badly on insurers.

Our aim is always to work with insurers to increase customer retention at policy renewal by delivering an exceptional, consistent customer focused service. This industry is riddled with sub-contractors, which creates huge opportunities for the Local Services networks to service these claims as the supplier of choice. At Local Services we are developing a network of 'Trusted Trade Professionals' who you can trust in your home or place of work. Our philosophy is simple, we put the plumber or electrician into the business man rather than the other way around. We look for the right people with the right attitude, often white and blue collar workers, and retrain and qualify them to do the job and run a professional and organised business.

Every business has a duty of care to its customers, none more so than organisations that deal with disabled or elderly clients. Local Services plumbers and electricians are an obvious choice when installing mobility baths, showers and stair lifts.

When people use a PlumbLocal or ElecLocal Trade Professional they can rest assured that they also have the backing of a national company with a dedicated customer services team. The public have put up with shoddy workmanship and poor service for long enough, things are changing and I'm delighted to say that Local Services are clearly leading the way.
