WH Smith to open in-store Post Office franchises

WH Smith is set to put post office franchises into one in eight of its stores, following trials in six of its outlets. The deal will see existing post offices relocating to WH Smith stores an average 250m from the original site.

"Customers quickly saw the benefits of the move to WH Smith, including the convenient location in the heart of the town's shopping area, the modern and inviting post office environment, shorter queues, improved service and additional services, such as longer opening hours," WH Smith spokesperson revealed.

Alan Cook, Post Office Ltd Managing Director, adds: "The combination of a WH Smith store and a post office branch makes perfect sense for customers and we both believe that it will strengthen our respective businesses."
