The UK suffers one of the highest rates of death from coronary heart disease in the world. Research by the British Heart Foundation has found that diseases of the heart and circulatory system are the main cause of death in the UK and account for over 208,000 deaths each year. More than one in three people (36 per cent) die from cardiovascular disease.

"Despite the prevalence of heart disease in the UK, the first time many sufferers know they've got a problem is when they fall down dead," says David Vincent who, with his wife Heidi founded the company behind Heart-Tech in 2005 after learning of a natural health product which can combat the prevalence of heart disease. "L'Arginine is an amino acid which helps the body assimilate Nitric Oxide, which is the signal molecule that tells arteries to expand and relax. This allows more oxygen to pass through the bloodstream which leads to improved cardiovascular health."

The Heart-Tech business concept centres around offering cardiovascular checkups and selling the company's exclusive L'Arginine formulation Tech-No. "We offer a simple, non-invasive and pain-free test using pulse wave analysis to assess cardiovascular health, providing a strategic health solution that can detect a problem before the first symptom," says David (pictured, above right, with Heidi and business co-owners Philip & Julie Knight). This form of testing is having huge benefits on people and will only increase in the years to come."

The Heart-Tech franchise is built around generating two income streams. The first is the instant testing fee and profit from retailing the Tech-No product, which is exclusive to Heart Tech and its franchise owners. The second is the long term residual income created by monthly Tech-No re-orders. "We've found that as many orders, if not more, are placed by people who have good results from their cardiovascular checkup, as it serves as a prevention as well as a cure," says David. "In addition it has been found to melt away plaque from arterial walls, prevent blood clotting, boost the immune system, improve wound healing and even act as a natural viagra for both sexes!"

Heart-Tech is seeking to create a nationwide network of dedicated people who can test and offer a solution, enabling cardiovascular testing to become as well known as blood pressure and cholesterol testing.
