In a year after its rebranding, 0800 Repair has already received accreditation by the British Franchise Association (bfa) and is now looking for new franchise owners to help its expansion.

0800 Repair offers repair and installation services on domestic appliances ranging from dishwashers and washing machines to cookers and vacuum cleaners. Re-branded from JTM Contracts last year, 0800 Repairs has bright yellow and black vans with a giant screwdriver on the roof.

Paul Feek, 0800 Repairs Managing Director, said: "We actually chose the yellow and black colours to look a bit like the emergency services as we see ourselves as the fifth emergency service."

The 0800 Repair brand was established during the recession, but the company has stated that the economic climate does not seem to have damaged the firm.

Feek added: "The recession's been a real leveller for us. We used to get lots of work on brand new appliances (through warranties) and there has been a serious decline in new sales. But on the flip side, more and more people are now getting their appliances repaired and this part of the business has grown dramatically over the last year."

With its recent bfa accreditation under its belt, 0800 Repair is aiming to open a further 150 franchises over the next five years. The company believes the market potential for new franchise owners is huge and it is aiming to increase the overall company turnover from its current £14 million to £25 million in the next five years.

The aim of 0800 Repair is to serve as a one-stop shop for the customers. Feek said: "We will repair it if it is broken, protect it with a warranty and even supply a replacement appliance if it cannot be fixed. We want to be the business that offers all the solutions and we are looking for more franchises to help us achieve this success."
