New franchise owners lay solid foundations
Two of All Trades’ new franchise owners, Trevor Richardson and Simon Harrison, reveal why they decided to join the management franchise
Since franchising its business concept in 2005, All Trades Network has rapidly developed into one of the UK’s leading property repair and maintenance franchises with more than 30 offices across the country.
The latest additions to the expanding All Trades family is Engineer, Trevor Richardson and Building Surveyor, Simon Harrison – both of who launched their businesses just a few months ago.
“I had work coming in from day one”
Before launching his Darlington-based All Trades franchise, Trevor Richardson worked as an Engineer for many years but decided that he was ready for a change and wanted to fulfil his ambition of becoming his own boss.
With little business experience behind him, Trevor looked to the franchise industry for an opportunity that would provide him with a proven business model and comprehensive training.
“I knew that by joining a franchise, I would be able to get my business up and running quickly and have the support of an experienced franchisor.
“I researched a variety of businesses but All Trades caught my eye,” recalls Trevor. “As I have worked at Director level before, I saw All Trades as the perfect opportunity to use my management skills. It also offered me the chance to work in an interesting sector and join an established brand with a proven business model.”
Trevor received a week of intensive training at All Trades’ head office in Blackburn, where he learned about the day-to-day running of the business, marketing and how to use the bespoke administration software.
“I learned a lot in a short space of time and was eager to get out into the field and put my new knowledge to the test,” enthuses Trevor. “With the help of the All Trades team, I had work coming in from day one. I love being part of the All Trades team, there are no office politics and I can just get on with providing a great service.
“Since joining All Trades Network, the support I have been given by my Franchise Manager, Eddie Mulqueen, and the company’s head office has been excellent. All Trades was definitely the right choice for me.”
“No two days are ever the same”
After researching the franchise industry for over a year, former Building Surveyor Simon Harrison decided to take the plunge with management franchise, All Trades Network.
“I was immediately impressed by what All Trades had to offer,” reveals Simon. “Householders will continue to make insurance claims regardless of the economy and managing the repairs to their property seemed like an ideal way to utilise my own project management skills.
“I met with All Trades’ Managing Director, Keith Roberts, who I found to be very approachable and professional – I just felt comfortable with the whole set up.”
Since launching his Huddersfield-based business, Simon has enjoyed the benefits of being his own boss and has found the ongoing support of the All Trades team to be invaluable.
“One of my favourite things about being an All Trades franchise owner is the variation it gives me – no two days are ever the same. As I have a constant flow of work, my business provides me with a good regular source of income and I am on target to hit my projected turnover.
“The days can be long, but I know that to make a success of my All Trades business, I have to put in the work. My goal is to become the number one insurance repair provider in my area and I know that, with the ongoing support of the All Trades team, I will be able to achieve this.”
