Blinds industry's 62 per cent sales rise

Britain's biggest blinds store chain is preparing for a surge in the number of enquiries to join its franchise network in the wake of new independent research which reports a 62 per cent growth in the sales of window blinds over the last five years.

Apollo Blinds has welcomed the publication of Mintel's new Window Furnishings and Accessories report which says that the industry's sales hit an all-time high of £445 million in 2006.

The report - from the leading global supplier of consumer, product and media intelligence - puts the growth in demand down to blinds being easy to maintain and the trend for simple and casual decor in the home.

Apollo Blinds' General Manager Patrick Harrison is delighted that such an authoritative study has highlighted how prosperous the industry is. 'The window blinds and accessories sector has been growing at a phenomenal rate over the last few years and as such it represents an excellent investment opportunity for anyone who wants to start their own Apollo Blinds business.

'These new research findings from such a trusted and credible independent source strengthen our position as the UK's most attractive franchise proposition because we also offer some of the best profit margins within the industry.

'Therefore we can create an even stronger case for anyone who wants to start their own franchise business with us because they will be joining the UK's market-leading retail chain and can generate a substantial return on their investment.'
