A best selling business author is due to head a series of discussions at the ‘Become a key person of influence’ conference taking place in London on Saturday 25th February.

Daniel Priestly, who has written the best selling book ‘Becoming a Key Person of Influence’, will be leading tomorrow’s event that will provide practical steps for people looking to start a new business or run a current one more successfully.

Priestly champions how to deliver value from spare capacity, and is backing the business-to-business trade exchange franchise Bartercard, which enables companies to do business without the need to part with valuable cash.

Priestly said: “The UK is undergoing challenging trading conditions at present and so it’s vital that start-ups and SMEs own their niche, capture their value and really make a name for themselves to ensure they stand out.

“The Bartercard service allows members from a range of sectors – from printing to PR, catering to coaching and IT to telecommunications – to trade their services, helping to ease cash flow and allowing their businesses to grow.”

Tim Ashley, Managing Director of Bartercard, said: “We fully support events like this one which encourage SMEs and start-ups to work smarter and add more value to their business and we are proud to be sponsoring this event.”

Also speaking at the event will be Mike Harris, co-founder of Firstdirect and Egg; Darren Shirraw, Mathematician, IP expert and founder of Shirlaws Coaching and Navitas IP; Steve Bolton, co-founder of Platinum Property Partners, a growing property franchise; and Penny Power, founder of Ecademy.com and a pioneer in social networking and new media. They will share their insights and advice on making your business idea a success.
