Belvoir Wins Top Franchise Award

Belvoir, one of the UK's largest specialist residential lettings agencies, was delighted to win Best Lettings Agency Franchise 2010 at the Lettings Agency of the Year Awards, in association with The Sunday Times and The Times.

Belvoir was among the leading companies attending The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards, hosted by Estate Agency Events at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London, judged by industry experts and chaired by The Property Ombudsman with the backing of ARLA.

Dorian Gonsalves, Operations Director, accepted the award for top franchise on behalf of Belvoir from renowned comedian Ruby Wax and Annmarie Blomfield, Managing Director of One Property Place (sponsors of the Best Lettings Agency Franchise category).

"The Sunday Times and The Times are extremely high profile newspapers and we are proud and delighted to receive this group award from them," said Dorian.

"The award for Best Lettings Agency Franchise is testament to the pride, passion and dedication of all our franchise owners in promoting the Belvoir brand, and providing outstanding customer service to their tenant and landlord clients. The award also recognises the high level of support and training that the team at Central Office constantly provides, and on which we pride ourselves so much.

"Belvoir currently has over 140 offices and I know that all of our franchise owners will be delighted at the news of this fantastic achievement."

Stringent standards
In making the award to Belvoir, the judging panel noted: "Belvoir is one of the largest franchise operations in the country and one of the few specialising solely in lettings. They have stringent standards for franchise owners to adhere to and high quality individuals are only accepted after demonstrating their drive to succeed and their potential to make substantial returns for the group. Belvoir has grown their business across all key areas significantly despite the difficult market and they intend to continue this trend by adding an additional 20 franchise owners this year.

"The support franchise owners can expect to receive is exemplary, not only from the outset but continuously throughout their time with Belvoir. To illustrate the importance that Belvoir places on continuous professional development, they have recently increased their training budget for franchise owners. New franchise owners participate in a three-week residential induction, then have the choice of over 50 additional modules, webinars and lessons. Their business formula is proven to work and we are delighted to award Belvoir Property Management the Gold Award for Best Lettings Agency Franchise."

Belvoir founder and CEO Mike Goddard said: "I'm hugely proud of what Belvoir has achieved. Gaining this kind of recognition is great for the business and will provide a boost for the 140 plus network of franchise owners that operate the Belvoir brand throughout the entire country.

"We always strive to meet the highest of standards and winning this award proves that we are reaching our goals."

Expansion plans
Belvoir was established in 1995 and handles a property portfolio valued at over £1 billion, offering a specialist service in property rental, property management, residential lettings and buy-to-let for tenants and landlords. The company is currently expanding its network and has identified a number of exclusive territories with the potential to become successful offices.

David Spackman, Head of Belvoir Recruitment, said: "Winning this award is fantastic news and we are all extremely proud, as it reflects the high quality of the business owners that are being recruited.

"Although previous experience in property management is not required as full training is provided, we are looking for individuals, partners or family members who can demonstrate to us that they have the drive and determination to succeed, as well as good communication skills and the potential to give something back to the group."
