The lettings franchise marked the day with a flurry of Northern-inspired activity including a flat cap decorating contest and plenty of Yorkshire Tea. The festivities raised more money for the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity, which Belvoir has raised over £25,000 for in the past two years.

The startlingly original idea was the brainchild of Premises Coordinator, Emma Greenfield, who almost embarrassingly forgot that August 1 is traditionally Yorkshire Day. However she was able to put together Belvoir’s celebrations in time for a ‘right good day’.

She said: “Something as simple as an office tea party can be a perfect way for an office to add funds to the Belvoir charity pot. In this case it was Belvoir’s charity tea pot.”

National Yorkshire Day may be all over for another year, but those feeling the back-to-work blues needn’t worry – National Button Day is just around the corner on November 16.
