All Betterclean Services’ franchise owners met in Torquay for the company’s first network development day earlier this year.

Dan van Kuyk, Managing Director and founder of Betterclean Services, said: “It was a well-structured day with guidance and interactive business development sessions. Franchise owners also got the opportunity to swap experiences and learn from each other.

“Sharing best practice in this way really helps our franchise owners – as well as their customers, ultimately. We are always testing and developing the business and bringing all this work into a discussion forum with the network is invaluable.”

On the day of the event, refresher sessions on sales and marketing, business administration, customer service and HR management took place in the morning. In the afternoon, franchise owners got the chance to seek tailored advice via surgery-style one-to-one sessions with Betterclean Services experts.

Having been a franchise owner for another company, van Kuyk understands the need for ongoing support to franchise owners. He said: “As well as providing information that can help our franchise owners to maximise their success, we source national contracts to aid their lead generation, and do many other things, such as provide an employment lawyer to advise them on HR issues. Our unique, cloud-based BLISS (Betterclean Logistical Information Software System) management system helps members of our network to save a lot of time and effort when managing clients and staff.”

A Betterclean Services franchise costs £44,950 + VAT and there are various financing options available. Successful candidates usually come from Senior Management backgrounds, have solid commercial awareness, and excellent English language and communication skills. Van Kuyk added: “We recognise that even people with commercial experience need support when launching a new venture. That support continues long after they have started. If we can provide information and share best practice to help any member of our network to become more successful, we will. Things change in business, and there are always new lessons to learn and new knowledge to pick up. It was a good day which will now be run on a quarterly basis.”
