International conference joins FLAsia 2010

Preparations are already under way to make Franchising and Licensing Asia (FLAsia) International Exhbition 2010 even more successful than last year's

Due to be held from 21-23 October at Marina Bay Sands, this year's exhibition will also run alongside the International Conference.

The FLAsia 2010 International Conference will enable potential franchise owners with the necessary knowledge and insight to be able to handle new business opportunities, get insights from successful case studies, learn useful tips and gain practical experience from the industry experts.

Among the highlights of the FLAsia 2010 International Conference and Workshop will be national pavilions, e-Match online business matching programmes, Hot-Match presentations, educational talks culminating in the FLA Award 2010 Gala Dinner and Showcase.

Hosted by the Franchising and Licensing Association Singapore and organised by BizLink Premium Services, FLAsia 2010 is set to be Asia's most successful international franchising and licensing event.

Since its launch in 2006, FLAsia has become a Mecca for potential entrepreneurs and investors looking for business opportunities as well as ways to expand market share.

Franchising & Licensing Asia (FLAsia) 2009 defied the global recession with a seven per cent increase in visitor attendance from 2008, attracting 10,663 attendees from 41 countries and regions who were able to discover franchise business opportunities with franchisors, licenses, brands and business concepts from around the world.

The rise was not only in numbers, but in quality as Jason Kikot, managing Directorof CoolSpot (The Walnut Group), explained: "I found the entire experience was thorough, detailed and well run. The Bizlink folks were extremely supportive and the other companies that they recommended for the show-related services were also 'top drawer'. I would recommend this show to anyone looking for solid quality leads."

Mr Kikot's sentiments were echoed by Gabriel Jakob, International Manager for Pack and Send International, Australia, who added: "FLAsia provided us with the opportunity to speak with many quality Master Franchise Owner candidates."

A survey of visitors carried out during the show, whose results, when compared to 2008 showed a notable increase in the proportion of decision makers and management-level visitors. The purpose of visiting was also very clear - most of the visitors at the 2009 exhibition were focused on exploring the opportunities before them and engaging in serious discussion.

The prospect of emerging successful will once again be enhanced at FLAsia 2010 with the e-MatchBusiness Matching Service, which allows pre-registered visitors to schedule appointments with the exhibitors prior to the exhibition, and the Hot-Match presentations, which provide exhibitors with a room away from the crowd in which to make their sales presentations.
