Blue Ribbon Community Care is seeking franchise owners who are passionate about providing quality home care to help its brand expand across the UK
Home care franchise, Blue Ribbon Community Care, was established last year with the purpose of providing a business opportunity to individuals who are passionate about providing a quality care service.
The franchise was founded by Noel Williams, who has 13 years of experience working in the care industry. "The idea behind Blue Ribbon is to focus on providing a business opportunity to individuals who may already be working in the health and social care sector," he reveals. "I made the franchise deliberately affordable as I believe the care industry deserves people who are serious about care and not solely interested in investing in a business that is seen as profitable.

Although Blue Ribbon is looking for franchise owners who are dedicated to providing a quality care service, having a formal background in the care industry is not necessary. "There are lots of people out there who are not recognised as carers because they do it unpaid," explains Noel. "One of our franchise owners recently questioned her own care experiences, but when we looked at it in detail she had raised a child, looked after siblings who had learning disabilities and cared for a mother who had been injured in an accident."
Despite the fact that husband and wife team Sue and Gary Mclndoe only launched their Blue Ribbon franchise last summer they have already made a net profit and employed more than 20 staff to cope with their expanding business. "We spoke to a few other franchises, but Blue Ribbon felt more personal and friendly," recalls Sue. "When the time came to signing up and getting on with creating the business they really got stuck in with us."
Prior to joining Blue Ribbon the couple have run a successful residential care home for the last 18 years and seen the care industry change and evolve within that time. They decided to open a Blue Ribbon franchise in order to diversify their existing care business. "We were willing to put in the hard work, but trying to create a home care agency on our own was a daunting prospect. Blue Ribbon provided a full training programme that was really thorough and fun, and now we have a great support manager who has been with us every step of the way."
During Sue's 18 years of experience working in the care industry she has found that the most important qualities in running a care business is patience, diligence and compassion. "You are dealing with vulnerable people and it's important to see them not just as clients but people who need to be treated with respect and dignity," she says.
"It requires a lot of hard work and dedication, but it's lovely to see how thrilled people are when you go above and beyond the call of duty to make their lives happier. For us, that makes it all worthwhile."
