The British Franchise Association (bfa) has strengthened its work in raising the awareness of franchising by appointing Jane Burgess as Public Relations Executive.

With over seven years’ experience in PR and marketing, Burgess has worked across a wide range of sectors from legal, accountancy and insurance to consumer and charity. As well as a thorough knowledge of marketing and communications, she also has strong business acumen having been involved with new business development for a communications agency.

Burgess said: “The bfa is such a well established and pivotal part of the franchise sector, a sector which contributes a significant amount to the UK economy, and I am looking forward to helping the organisation to extend its reach and raise awareness of franchising. We will continue to work with our members to offer guidance and influence the continuing ethical development of franchising, both in the UK and around the world.”

Tom Endean, Marketing Manager at the bfa, said: “I am delighted that Jane has joined us. We have previously worked with a number of PR agencies but decided to move function in-house to enable us to be more responsive and reach a wider audience. As we enter a new phase in the organisation’s development, with the engagement of franchise owners, it is really important that we have a team we can depend on.”
