Leeds-based mobile coffee franchise Café2U has continued its growth with its exclusive Accelerated Launch Programme and income guarantee for new franchise owners.

Cafe2U sells franchises to operate custom built coffee vans in exclusive territories selling gourmet hot drinks and other snacks and food to around 45,000 customers across the UK each week from their fleet of 54 mobile Cafe2U vans.

The company has reported excellent trading results in 2009/10, which it says is a result of a sustained growth in new franchise owners joining the company, as well as increasing product sales figures of existing franchise owners. Despite these results, Cafe2U has introduced an improved launch programme, and income guarantee for all new franchise partners, which fast track the results of the new business by up to three months.

Cafe2U Managing Director Tom Acland said: "The Cafe2U Acceleration Launch Programme provides an experienced launch coach for the new business, and allows our franchise partners to enjoy profitability by the end of the 2nd week of trading. They also receive our exclusive income guarantee during launch, thus removing the two biggest worries from the mindset of our prospective franchise partners."

Cafe2U, which was founded in Australia, was brought to the UK by Leeds Metropolitan University hospitality graduate Tom Acland in 2005, when he fell in love with the coffees he bought from a Cafe2U van in Sydney. Tom negotiated the rights to operate the franchise business in the UK and Europe and has led the growth of the coffee retailer.

Acland continued: "The concept of high quality coffee delivered to your work place is easy to understand, and this simplicity is one of the factors that is driving our growth. We now operate 54 franchise owners in the UK, but aim to increase this to 350 over the next four years.

"The progress of the company is such a short space of time is due to the excellence of our service, high standards and continual product development programme resulting in the business not standing still for long."

The company employs seven head office staff at Thorpe Park, Leeds and 54 franchise staff work on the vans that are based as far afield as Basingstoke, Leeds, Manchester, Belfast and Edinburgh.

The Cafe2U franchises cost from £20,000 including training and full set up, marketing and ongoing support. The custom built Cafe2U van costs a further £38,500 and can be purchased or leased subject to status.
