Bring Spain to the UK with Cañas y Tapas
In this time of economic uncertainty, for many Britons a holiday abroad is not on the cards. Capitalise on Britain's love of Spanish cuisine and culture by bringing it closer to home with a Cañas y Tapas restaurant and bar themed franchise
Spain remains one of the top holiday destinations for Britons looking to grab a slice of sunshine. In fact on average 14 million Britons jet off to Spain every year. With this in mind, authentic Spanish restaurant and bar Cañas y Tapas has launched in the UK with the ambition to bring the Spanish culture and cuisine closer to UK residents' homes so that they can enjoy the Spanish experience all year round whatever the weather.
Following its successful development across Spain, France and Portugal, Cañas y Tapas seeks prospective UK franchisees to help with its nationwide expansion. The investment opportunity is open to entrepreneurs looking to become a single unit operator and own one restaurant or even become an area developer and open multiple restaurants within a set territory. All franchisees have access to ongoing support and training, which is provided by head office in Spain.
Founded in 1999, Cañas y Tapas began franchising its successful business model in 2003. Since then, the Cañas y Tapas network has grown with 90 restaurants operating throughout Spain, seven in Portugal and a further three in France. The latest addition to the franchise network is the pilot UK franchise based in the Highcross Shopping Centre, Leicester, operated by franchisee Parvez Bhatty. This opened in September this year.
The Cañas y Tapas concept recreates a Spanish ambience with its choice in decoration, furnishings and live entertainment. The lights, pictures, Andalucian tiles and hardwoods combined with live musicians and Spanish dancers make a truly unforgettable experience that is reminiscent of a Spanish bar and restaurant from the 1900s.
With 70 items on its menu, Cañas y Tapas caters for those looking for a traditional Spanish breakfast to a late night supper. Its affordable price and family friendly facilities means students, couples, businessmen and families can eat in and enjoy the food.
Carlos Perez of Cañas y Tapas says: 'Our aim is to provide top quality authentic Spanish cuisine such as paella, tortilla and tapas in a traditional Spanish setting. We are looking to develop in big to medium sized cities such as Birmingham, Manchester or London.
'The qualities we are looking for in prospective franchisees include restaurant experience, solid financial backing and a proven track record in business. Cañas y Tapas is keen to develop across the country and is looking for entrepreneurs who share this goal and value of providing quality food at affordable prices.'
All franchisees benefit from a comprehensive support and training package. This includes an intensive three-month training course in Spain, working in an established restaurant and pre-launch, launch and post-launch support. Cañas y Tapas has a team at head office to help with every aspect of running the franchise, this ensures that franchisees never feel on their own and any problems can be resolved swiftly.
