Caremark India officially launches home care in Southern India
Caremark Care Services Private Ltd, Caremark’s not-for-profit home care enterprise in India, was officially launched at a sumptuous opening ceremony, attended by invited dignitaries, special guests and members of the Caremark UK head office team.
Special guest of honour was Dr M. K. Muneer, India’s Minister for Social Justice, whose arrival at the prestigious Gokulam Convention Centre was heralded by a group of traditional Indian musicians. Close to 350 people gathered to hear welcome speeches and presentations given by invited guests and the Caremark India management team.
Caremark India’s newly trained team of 16 home care workers were all presented with flowers and a gift from Caremark Limited’s UK CEO, Kevin Lewis.
The launch day was the culmination of months of work and preparations from staff in India and at Caremark Limited head office in the UK.
This new venture is the brain-child of Dr. Jacob Roy, Chairman of Alzheimer’s Disease International and founder of Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society India and Kevin Lewis, British entrepreneur and CEO of Caremark Limited, one of the leading independent home care providers in the UK.
Commenting on the day, Greg Kuriakose Jacob, Caremark India’s Chief Operating Officer said: “This was all a team effort. Everyone in the office was working with great support from the UK office for a common goal of making this launch a great success.
I am looking forward to even greater success in the future for our company in Cochin.” Caremark India will be providing high quality care and support to older adults, in particular those who are struggling with Alzheimer’s and other dementia related conditions, enabling them to live safe, independent lives at home with their families. Alzheimer’s disease already affects thousands of older people in India. There is a huge demand for home care which is currently not being met and with a population of 36 million in Kerala alone, this is presenting a significant challenge for many people. The new home care service has been welcomed in Cochin and is expected to make a significant difference to many families and their loved ones.
