Two sisters became the latest Caremark franchise owners when they opened their home care franchise in Carnforth, which provides care services to the Lancaster and South Lakeland areas.

Alison Hedley and Susan Westbury, who opened their franchise in September, are confident that the care and support provided by Caremark will set them apart from other care providers in their area.

Commenting of the fact that Caremark’s care provision enables permanent allocation of carers and call times long enough to provide proper care, Westbury said: “This allows care workers and customers to get to know each other, carers become familiar with customers’ preferences and, crucially, can indicate deterioration in medical conditions or changing care needs, both of which should be brought to the attention of family or other professionals. Permanent allocation provides stability and is beneficial to customers, their families and the care worker too.”

Each Caremark franchise office provides a flexible service and can offer care and support ranging from simple companionship or assistance with shopping and light domestic duties to personal care, short-term respite or even full-time live-in care.

Headley added: “Our main aim is to make a difference to people’s lives by enabling them to remain independent in their homes for longer. We also aim to build a reputation for giving the customer choice and control over what care is provided to them and how, thus offering the same high standards that you would wish for a member of your own family. In order to do this, we see our care workers as our most valuable asset and want to provide a welcoming and supportive working environment for them as they do such an important job. We feel by providing comprehensive training, field support and good career development opportunities, we will become an employer of choice for the very best care staff.”
