Home care provider, Caremark (Redcar & Cleveland) has been selected by North Yorkshire County Council to implement a number of Individual Service Fund (ISF) pilot services across the country.

Caremark (Redcar & Cleveland) is one of only six companies to be selected to provide the service in Whitby and the surrounding area. The first tranche will be to help manage funds on behalf of 20 local people.

This 12-month pilot forms part of the Government’s drive towards Personalisation, which is about allowing people who require care and support to choose the services that best meets their needs. Under this pilot, Caremark (Redcar & Cleveland) will effectively manage money on behalf of individuals and support them with the purchase of a variety of services: equipment, community-based activities, home care and respite care.

Commenting on this development, Charles Folkes (pictured), Managing Director of Caremark (Redcar & Cleveland) said: “We are delighted to be one of only a few private providers chosen to pilot the ISF services in North Yorkshire.

“We only recently expanded our home care services in Whitby but the people we will be managing funds for may not be in need of our services; our role is to simply help them achieve their preferred outcomes without the requirement to manage large amounts of money directly or to employ staff.

“The ISFs can help ensure that people get a service that is truly individual and right for them. This is a new project for us but one we are very excited to be part of.”
