In Pursuit of Excellence

About Us

Caremark is a domiciliary care franchise which offers care and support services to individuals within their own homes and their local communities. Caremark franchise owners offer support services to a wide range of clients and organisations within their territory giving them the maximum opportunity to grow their business to its full potential, while maintaining the highest standards of care and professionalism.

Caremark is now in its fifth year of trading and is continuing to grow at an impressive rate in its demanding marketplace. Now with over 65 offices in the UK and Ireland, Caremark is established in its reputation for excellence and quality which continues to strengthen as the network grows. There are currently more than 1,600 people employed across the network, providing support services to over 2,000 clients - driven by the passion and determination of Kevin Lewis, Founder and Managing Director of Caremark Ltd. Kevin's experience in the industry started 20 years ago when he launched what is now the UK's biggest domiciliary care provider, an ambition he has the determination to exceed with Caremark. The most significant difference and the characteristic that gives the most competitive edge is Caremark's responsiveness to change that has been built in to its culture right from its inception.

The knowledge and support provided by Caremark's specialist and dedicated support team allows franchise owners to utilise their many skills, to include business development, marketing, I.T, finance, training and of course, care. "The support team have been professional, supportive, passionate and dedicated about the brand and the business," says Naz Asghar, Caremark (Stockport), "we were convinced from the very first impression we got from Caremark that we would get the support we needed to operate the business successfully."

Q&A with Charles Folkes, Caremark (Redcar and Cleveland)

Q. What made the Caremark franchise stand out to you above all others?A. The commitment of Kevin Lewis to delivering a high quality service and his integrity and experience developing a similar franchise before. It was also obvious to me that the promise and delivery of franchise owner support was second to none from Caremark's head office staff.

Q. What would you say are your main achievements throughout the 2009 period?
A. My main achievement was doing the groundwork in terms of marketing the service, raising our local profile and making sure local authorities were well aware of us, so when they decided to open up their provider list we were in the frame. We subsequently achieved preferred provider status with Redcar and Cleveland in May 2010. We also gained a two-star rating on our first key inspection with CQC, the highest possible for the first inspection.

Q. What do you do to ensure you maintain excellent and high quality standards of care?
A. We follow the Caremark quality system by promoting a culture of high quality and valuing our carers.

Q. How do you intend to pursue excellence in 2010?
A. It's more of the same. I continually strive to improve by developing my team in continuing to develop our culture of providing the very best quality care that we can.

Q. What would you say are the main components of running a successful Caremark franchise?
A. Commitment, determination and hard work. We succeed by following the system to ensure quality standards are met and I keep a close eye on financials and cash.

In Pursuit of Excellence

While the social care industry sits on the edge of reform, Caremark remains at the leading edge and continues to deliver excellence across the 65-office network. With care at home at the forefront of current political debate, there are many resultant changes occurring in the Health and Social Care industry and this is leading to the rise in popularity of care franchises.

Caremark has undergone detailed planning and research throughout 2009 to introduce the most sophisticated policies, procedures and documentation which satisfy the impending regulations before they take effect.

The pursuit of excellence, however, isn't just about satisfying regulations, but delivering only the best standards of care in the home across the UK and Ireland. While the demand for home care services has seen staggering growth since its inception in 1993, the social care sector is now estimated to be worth in excess of £20 billion per annum and continues to experience exceptional growth.

Sean Cragg, National Operations Director of Caremark Ltd, comments:
"Excellence is not about size, personal reward or satisfaction, it revolves around the person in receipt of our services. Caremark is wholly committed to its' customer, developing in line with the cultural changes in the industry and possessing a vision that contributes to real change in our customer's life. This belief is something that is a common thread running through all of our franchisees, and ultimately, leads to their success."

An Expansive Sector
The care sector is a large and exciting market in a climate where many other sectors are suffering from inescapable economic hardships.

At Caremark we are looking to form a strong network by seeking out partnerships with the highest calibre individuals and then providing them with a solid opportunity to underpin their success.

How Have We Achieved Unrivalled Growth In Our Sector?
We totally believe in up-front investment which is why we have recruited the largest and most experienced team to provide a comprehensive support and backup.

We understand the nature of the care business through our proven ongoing success. Our experience tells us that the business of caring is not one which conventional marketing strategies will be effective in achieving immediate growth. Our experienced support team delivers quality advice and guidance which enables our franchise owners to develop beneficial relationships that drive their businesses forward, sometimes at great pace.

Selection Criteria
Individuals with strong management ability and clear business experience will be best equipped to apply the business model successfully. Furthermore, there is no requirement to hold previous experience in care.

If you are looking for a management franchise which provides an opportunity without a ceiling and are passionate about contributing positively towards society then we would like to speak with you.
