"Don't ask us, ask the people that matter - our franchise owners"

Caremark is a domiciliary care franchise that offers care and support services to individuals within their own homes and their local communities. Caremark franchise owners offer non-medical support services to a wide range of customers and organisations within their territory, operating to the highest standards of care and professionalism.

Caremark's quality of service and professional image continues to spread throughout the UK as our 21 per cent month on month growth remains. The Caremark model has indeed proven itself to be a dynamic and versatile recipe for success that applies nationwide and across Ireland. The model's strength grows as the great Caremark story continues to unfold.

Prospective franchise owners always comment that the ratio of support team members to franchise owners is better than any other they have come across. Caremark's large support team is a carefully selected multi-disciplinary group of individuals all equipped with specialist skills. Its team members work within their areas to ensure that the company's methodologies remain at the leading edge of care. Through efficient team work they can support any franchise owner when high priority business demands present themselves and respond to give Caremark's franchise owners the high levels of support they deserve.

"We don't expect you to take our word for any of this, I invite anybody we are speaking with seriously who fulfils our criteria to speak with our entire group of franchise owners," says Chris Wandel, Franchise Recruitment Manager of Caremark Ltd.

Q&A with Lawrence Hart, Caremark (Welwyn and Hatfield)

Q. How have you found the support provided to you by the Caremark support team?
A. The support from Caremark has been very good and is improving all the time. It is important for any franchisor to quickly recognise weaknesses in their franchise owners and help them grow and develop in those areas. After all, one of the reasons we bought into a franchise was for the guidance and support the franchisor can provide. I believe Caremark, through experience, are now much better placed to recognise these issues in new franchise owners.

Q. What would you say were the main components of your success?
A. Hard work and dedication to our staff and clients. Both Melinda and I have a strong passion to provide an excellent care service to clients while looking after our team of dedicated Care Workers. From a business standpoint, we have been persistent and consistent in our approach to marketing and growth. Caremark has provided us with a framework and mode of operation that has proven efficient and professional in organising our business for successful growth.

Q. How do you intend to pursue excellence in your own business?
A. There are big changes in the care sector and we need to keep on top of them. Caremark is dedicated to providing us with the necessary tools and policies and philosophy for this to happen. For example; our new assessment tools are very comprehensive and meet the latest standards as set by the Care Quality Commission.

Q. What kind of person do you think it takes to operate a Caremark franchise?
A. A business acumen is essential. This business involves dealing with many people on many different levels so good communication is a good attribute. Someone who doesn't get stressed easily as at times this business can be very demanding. Don't be afraid to ask for help from the Caremark support team when you need it - that's what they are there for!

In Pursuit of Excellence

The social care industry is a very attractive media topic in the current climate, highlighting the growing importance of home care providers and the funding available to support care in to the future. Caremark remains ahead of other domiciliary care providers in legislative compliance, having already developed and implemented new processes to support the new requirements taking effect on 1st October 2010. This puts existing and future Caremark franchise partners in a strong position to take the lead and pursue excellence throughout every aspect of their business.

"Since joining the network, so much has changed and I can really see the difference in our business' approach and the way in which Caremark is evolving. I needed to send my appreciation as we have been working through the new process and it works so well - I cannot wait for our next inspection!" says Rakesh Babla, Caremark (Wolverhampton).

The Pursuit of Excellence is a theme that was first recognised in the Caremark family at the 2010 Annual Conference but has run through the veins of every Franchise Partner since the beginning. "Excellence is not about size, personal reward or satisfaction; it revolves around the person in receipt of our services. Caremark is wholly committed to its customer, developing in line with the cultural changes in the industry and possessing a vision that contributes to real change in our customer's life. This is belief is something that is a common thread running through all of our franchise owners, and ultimately, leads to their success," comments Sean Cragg, National Operations Director of Caremark Ltd.

High Standards of Care
It is no myth that there is a need for more high quality care providers. Our methodologies are tried and tested and we take measures to ensure that our network is delivering on its promises.

An Expansive Sector
The care sector is a large and exciting market in a climate where many other sectors are suffering from inescapable economic hardships.

At Caremark we are looking to form a strong network by seeking out partnerships with the highest calibre individuals and then providing them with a solid opportunity to underpin their success.

How We Have Achieved Unrivalled Growth In Our Sector
