Cash Converters opens new store

Cash Converters, a pre-owned and nearly new goods retail franchise, has continued its expansion with the opening of its latest store in Ashton under Lyne. The store is owned and operated by Australian business partners Adam Stewart and John Strickland, who own a number of Cash Converter stores in Australia.

Adam and John, who have known each other for over 20 years, met when they were training to become police officers in Queensland. After spending 12 years in the Police Service, they pursued their interest in small business and have since enjoyed many years within the Cash Converters organisation.

Adam said: 'I am delighted to be working with John and opening in Ashton under Lyne. Our vast experience in the industry has prepared us well for this new venture and we are looking forward to offering local people a wide range of services. At a time when everyone is tightening their belt, releasing cash from unwanted goods and finding a bargain is all the more important and that's where Cash Converters can help.'

John added: 'As traditional forms of borrowing are becoming less widely available, people across Greater Manchester are realising the benefits of the various services offered by Cash Converters to meet short term financial requirements.
