More potential franchise owners turn to Cash Generator

High street retailer, Cash Generator, continues to increase its UK presence and, as a result, is regularly attracting a high calibre of candidate wishing to join the network, some of who are leaving well-established franchisors.

With more than 120 stores currently and plans to open a further 16 stores in the UK before the end of 2010, including Leeds, Bristol and Inverness, Cash Generator is well on its way to having 200 stores by 2013.

Furthermore, with ambitious plans for the future, including expansion into Europe, it is of no surprise that Cash Generator has witnessed a surge in quality franchise owner applications in recent months. Stuart Saunders, from Devon, is a franchise owner who has switched franchisors, swapping sandwich making for the world of discount retailing.

Having previously owned three sandwich retail franchises for eight years in the South West of England, Stuart was tired of the long hours associated with that industry and wanted a new start with an equally as good franchisor.

Cash Generator immediately stood out for Stuart: “I wanted a new challenge, one that allowed me to reduce my working hours and with improved margins – Cash Generator answered both of those.

“After eight years at Subway, the brand element was also important and, as a national high street retailer with ambitious plans for the future, the company really appealed to me.”

With his first Cash Generator store due to open in Torquay later this year, Stuart has scheduled a portfolio of stores in the region into his business plan.

The national high street retailer has also seen one of its franchise owners recognised for his achievements by receiving a prestigious award. Nick Bourne, has scooped the British Franchise Association HSBC Franchisee of the Year 2010 award for the South West and South Wales regions.

Nick, 45, who invested in Cash Generator just four years ago, has quickly grown to be one of the company’s best performing franchise owners, operating three stores and is soon to open his fourth. Celebrating his resounding success in such a short space of time, Nick saw off tough competition in the category. The award, which was presented to Nick at a gala dinner at the NEC in Birmingham, recognises and rewards franchise owners with exceptional success stories.

Established in 1994 and based in Bolton, Lancashire, Cash Generator is a full member of the British Franchise Association.
