Franchising is such a vibrant sector, both on UK shores and abroad that people from all walks of life want a slice of the action. Celebrities are no different. Here, we take a look at some of the highest-profile stars and the franchises they have invested in.

Peyton Manning – Papa John’s
The Denver Broncos quarterback invested in 21 of the pizza restaurants in Denver, Colarado, in 2012, hinting in an interview that it was a good time to do so, as recent law changes in the region had made some customers extra hungry.

Phil Mickelson – Five Guys
Sports stars certainly like their franchises, and 2013 golf Open Championship-winner Mickleson describes Virginia-based Five Guys as producing the best burgers he has ever eaten. Not surprising, as he owns the rights to several of the franchises in Orange County, as part of an investment group.

Kriss Akabusi – Platinum Property Partners
After being commissioned to give a motivational speech to employees at the company’s workshop, gold medal-winning athlete Akabusi was so impressed with the network and its property investment model that he has since become the latest of over 200 partners in the franchise network.

Jimmy Buffett – Krispy Kreme
The ‘Margaritaville’ songwriter was already a franchise owner for the popular doughnut company in West Palm Beach when he invested in several more as part of The South Florida Partnership back in 2002
