I had been working in London but was fed-up with the commute everyday. I began looking for franchises where I would be able to utilise my skills and experiences. I narrowed down potential franchises to about three but after speaking to Certax I quickly realised they would be able to provide the flexibility and support I was looking for.

Before launching my franchise in January 2006 I completed a five week training programme. Although I already have a degree in accountancy I still found the training intensive as it covered all the things you need to know for running your own business, such as targeting new customers and record keeping requirements.

I'm really pleased with the success I've had since opening my business and last year I reach my turnover target of £70,000. As well as the financial rewards I love the flexibility I get from being self-employed and working from home.
