CeX celebrates 100 franchised stores in UK

In 2012, second-hand entertainment franchise CeX achieved milestone store openings and entered new continents - and there's no sign of slowing in 2013

One of the UK’s leading retail franchises, Complete entertainment eXchange (CeX) has just celebrated opening its 100th UK franchised store in Burton on Trent.

Lewis Broughton, who jointly owns two CeX stores says, “I’m really happy to be trading here at Burton on Trent and opening the 100th CeX franchise. The store looks great and we’ve had a great response from customers.”

CeX trade in a focused, yet complementary range of digital entertainment products backed up by 21 years’ experience. The brand is publicly acclaimed as the technology and entertainment exchange specialist.

CeX was founded in 1992 in London and now operates in six countries across four continents. Innovations in mobile phones, computers, video games, movies and digital electronics continue to drive CeX’s growth and success. As consumers upgrade, CeX provides the fastest fixed price instant way to sell their old technology on the high street as well as online.

What separates CeX from wider buy and sell retailers is their execution. CeX have developed a set of bespoke computer systems that simplify the process of buying and selling. Goods are tested before they are bought in and then resold with a 12-month warranty, offering customers great value for money and peace of mind.

Budding business owners can now join the CeX network from as little as £40,000 + VAT, with a total investment of £150,00 most of which goes towards stock and shop fitting.

In addition to its successful national expansion, the CeX brand has also reached around the globe, recently opening stores in Australia.

In 2012 CeX opened 64 new stores worldwide, 42 of which were in the UK and predicts strong growth in 2013. Marketing Manager Jonathan Cronin says, “In a retail environment where everyone is just trying to sell you something, CeX is a uniquely focused proposition on the high street.”

Senior Franchising Manager Frank Orchard comments: “CeX have achieved an important milestone, and see the potential for many more new franchised stores in the near future. We are proud to have shared this successful buy, sell and exchange concept with our franchisees, who have been instrumental in helping us expand our offering to many towns and cities across the UK. We continue our search for bold retail franchisees that share our vision and passion.
