In 1988, having decided upon starting up my own business, I opted for a Chem-Dry franchise as I felt their business model could inspire me. It provides me with immense satisfaction to be celebrating 20 years of running our successful business.

The Chem-Dry Wirral & Deva business bears no resemblance to the business I started in 1988, with my mum playing a critical role in the early days answering the phone and operating out of the back bedroom. We now operate from a 1300sqft unit coupled with a workforce of nine dedicated individuals.

Franchising is a long term business solution, not just a short term business fix. If anybody is thinking about running their own franchise business, as I did back in 1988, I would give them the following piece of advice: join as many business networks as time allows and make friends with as many people in commercial industry.
