Automotive paintwork repair franchise ChipsAway has so far raised £15,000 for Help for Heroes, its nominated charity for 2010.

ChipsAway Chief Executive Lloyds Evans said: “The head office team and ChipsAways franchise owners around the UK have undertaken a wide range of activities, from cycle rides, walks and marathons to sponsored weekend car washes and charity balls on behalf of this very worthwhile cause. It’s been great fun and we have been delighted by the tremendous support we’ve received from friends, family and of course our customers.”

The franchise owner who raises the most funds for the charity will have lunch with television presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson. The current front-runner for the lunch is franchise owner Carl Hardiman, who, together with his team of employees, has raised over £4,000.

Evans added: “We adopted Help for Heroes as our Charity of the Year to coincide with the 15th anniversary of our launch in the UK. We have a number of ex-Service people among our franchise owners and colleagues at head office – including Carl Hardiman – and felt that this very topical charity would be a relevant and popular choice. We’re extremely proud of everyone at ChipsAway who has been involved in this excellent effort.”
