Staff at ChipsAway, a SMART repair franchise, have raised a total of £2,700 for their favourite charities. The women who work at ChipsAway head office in Kidderminster have raised over £700 for Cancer Research by taking part in Race for Life.
The race was the largest in the Midlands and had over 5,000 entrants. The women who took part were Jackie Cook, Gemma Bourne, Natalie Hughes, Lindsey Barney and Rebecca Dodd and all five improved on their times from last year's race.
As well as this Lloyd Evans, ChipsAway Chief Executive and Martin Smith, Franchise Director, completed the Three Peaks Challenge in order to raise over £2,000 for the Ataxia-Telangiectasia Society.
The Three Peaks Challenge is an event that involves climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales (Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, and Snowdon respectively) all within 24 hours.
Lloyd and his team (pictured) successfully completed the task, reaching the bottom of Snowdon in just under 22 hours. Lloyd said: 'This charity has particular significance to me as my daughter's friend and her younger brother both have the disease. Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T) is a rare, neurodegenerative, inherited disease that affects many parts of the body and causes severe disability. I am thrilled that we have managed to raise such a fantastic amount of money for such an important charity.'
ChipsAway has around 350 franchise owners operating nationwide providing an on-the-spot SMART repair service. Franchise owners operate from professionally liveried vehicles, customised as fully equipped mobile workshops, which means they can repair minor dents, paintwork scratches and bumper scuffs to car paintwork on a same day basis, in a location most convenient to their customer.
