Coffee shop chain, Coffee Republic, opened a new flagship bar in Central London last month and has donated all its profits from its first day of trading to Teenage Cancer Trust.

The store, which is located on Tottenham Court Road, will sell the chain’s signature espresso-based drinks and freshly prepared food.

The opening of the flagship store is part of Coffee Republic’s planned expansion into key locations in towns and cities across the UK. At the end of 2010 Coffee Republic opened its first bar in Doncaster, as well as locations in Newton Abbot, Eastleigh, Hove, and Rochester Row in London. Additionally, the company has announced a number of new international deals and a tie up with Shell in over 400 forecourts to sell its Italian Roast coffee.

Commenting on the development Coffee Republic Chief Executive Tariq Affara said: “Every new opening is exciting for us as we roll out our new look bars across the country, but this is our flagship bar and marks our return to the heart of the capital. The brand now has a very different look and feel, which has achieved our aim of being warm and welcoming with a very contemporary edge. We remain true to the core essence of the Coffee Republic brand and sell only coffee that is genuinely roasted in Milan. We have greatly improved our food offering and will continue to invest heavily in the ambience of our bars to set a new standard for coffee retailers everywhere.”
