13th franchise launched under ComputerXplorers

Children's computer-assisted learning franchise ComputerXplorers has announced the opening of its latest franchise. Covering South East Scotland, franchise owner Lynne Kerr will offer classes in subjects such as Crime Scene Investigation, rocketeering and robotics to help children aged three to 13 to master technological skills at an early age. The South East Scotland franchise is the 13th operation in the ComputerXplorers network.

"I have worked at the cutting edge of technical innovation for years, so I decided to look at franchises that made the best use of my skills," said Lynne, whose background includes 10 years in IT service management, most recently with BSkyB. "I always wanted to work with children so when I discovered ComputerXplorers I was delighted to have an opportunity to combine the two!

"Although starting a new business in a recession is risky, I feel that the quality of the service offered by ComputerXplorers and the fact that it benefits children's education make it a good investment. ComputerXplorers introduces children to technology in a fun and innovative way, builds their confidence, and develops all-important life skills. I'd not come across anything like it in Scotland and I'm very excited about bringing these classes to my local area."

Lynne is based in Musselburgh, East Lothian and was looking for a business which offered a professional challenge as well as a work-life balance which would enable her to look after her two daughters aged three and 11 months. "I've got the flexibility of being my own boss, as well as the support of a well-respected franchisor with a proven business model," she continued. "What's the point of waiting until the recession is over? It's the right time for me to take the plunge and ComputerXplorers is a brilliant product."
