A Domino's Pizza franchise owner has been named as a finalist in the 2012 NatWest everywoman Awards.

Lisa Tobias was chosen as a finalist in the Demeter category for women aged 26 to 35 in acknowledgement of her Glasgow-based Domino’s Pizza business.

Tobias, aged 31, is not only one of the youngest Domino’s Pizza franchise owners, but also the company’s most successful female in the UK and Ireland. Five of her stores hold Domino’s ‘five star operational evaluation report rating’ and she is a previous Gold Franny award winner for her business acumen and success, beating off competition from Domino’s franchise owners in over 65 countries.

Despite the current economic climate, in 2010 Tobias’ business achieved like-for-like sales growth of 14.2 per cent. Tobias visits her stores regularly and is a great role model for other staff, having worked at every role within Domino’s. She frequently speaks at educational events and conferences in order to inspire young people to start their own business, informing them about franchise as a route, and demonstrating that the university is not the only option available.

Karen Gill, MBE, co-founder of everywoman, said: “We have been fortunate over the past 10 years to be introduced to a huge number of inspirational, successful women and this year’s finalists again have wowed us with their achievements. Many more women are turning to enterprise during the economic downturn, realising how satisfying and rewarding it can be and I hope that by highlighting our amazing finalists this year more will be encouraged to follow in their footsteps.”

Anne McPherson, Managing Director, Diversity in Business at NatWest, added: “At NatWest, we have long recognised the economic benefit that encouraging more women-owned businesses can bring and are committed to helping women achieve their ambitions through our network of accredited Women in Business Specialist Relationship Managers. Our longstanding relationship with everywoman and 10-year sponsorship of the NatWest everywoman awards is a key part of our strategy to provide opportunities for women to raise their profile and grow their businesses. Our partnership with everywoman also allows us to open up personal development opportunities to our staff and our customers in the areas that woman tell us are important to them.”
