Dream Doors sets new record
In an economy dominated by fears of a credit crunch inspired downturn, Dream Doors is bucking the trend with its franchisees posting record sales
April was a month of superlative achievement for the Dream Doors franchise network. The kitchen and bedroom facelift company, which has established 20 showrooms nationwide and has a further five franchisees preparing to open retail locations, saw its monthly sales record shattered by Lincoln franchisees Chris and Paula Hann who recorded a turnover of over £136,000.
An ex-air force man, Chris and his wife Paula quadrupled their turnover when they moved their Dream Doors business into a showroom. 'Since moving into the showroom, business has really taken off,' says Chris. 'We have quite a relaxed relationship with Dream Doors. They encourage and support us, but are not on our backs all the time and it is in our best interests to listen to them because they know what works. The training gave us enthusiasm for the business and the building blocks to get it up and running.'
April was also a record month for Nottingham franchisees Trevor and Anne Conduit, who posted sales of £90,000. 'Everything we have had from Dream Doors has lived up to or exceeded our expectations,' says Trevor. 'The support is fantastic with great training and invaluable help in sourcing and designing our showroom. Everything about the franchise works as it is written in the manual and, in your early days, this is important while you learn the business. We already have plans to develop, taking on our sons and additional showrooms within our territory.'
A Dream Doors facelift involves transforming a kitchen or bedroom by swapping the doors with made-to-measure replacements. A cost and time saving solution to traditional re-fits, a facelift can be completed in as little as one day and for a fraction of the cost. New cabinets, worktops, appliances or sinks can also be incorporated and it is this total flexibility that makes a Dream Doors facelift compelling.
Dream Doors is seeking people with managerial, organisational and communication skills to develop the brand in Scotland. 'No kitchen experience is necessary as Dream Doors helps you to recruit a quality installation team,' says Franchise Manager Alex Waite. 'With the support and encouragement of head office and dedicated Franchise Managers in the field, you can build your own business without the risks and isolation of a traditional start-up.
'We are very excited about exhibiting at the British Franchise Exhibition in Glasgow as we want to find like-minded business partners to represent our brand in a market place that will benefit from the Dream Doors service. Our national advertising campaigns provide a number of potential customers in from across Scotland and, without a branch to service these, we are losing business!'
