Dream Doors’ Franchise and Operations Director, Kelly Chambers, has been elected to the board of the British Franchise Association (bfa). This marks the beginning of Chambers’ third year as a bfa representative after serving her first two terms as a highly commended chairperson for the South West region.

Chambers (pictured top with other bfa board members) said: “I am delighted and honoured to be elected to the board of the bfa. I have really enjoyed chairing the South West regional forums over the last two years, and during that time we have seen the numbers of attendees significantly increase. Moving up to the board is an even greater responsibility, and one that I do not take lightly. It is a three year posting, and I fully intend to maximise the opportunity I have to both support and influence the work of the bfa.

“The next few years is an exciting time for the bfa with the implementation of One Vision, its programme of developments which includes genuine franchise owner engagement within what is the UK franchise industry’s sole regulatory body. This is new ground for everyone involved, and will pave the way for the bfa to truly represent the franchising sector as a whole. I will also work hard with the rest of the board, which includes another four newly elected members, to promote franchising and franchised businesses to the wider public.”

Chambers joined Dream Doors, one of the UK’s largest kitchen facelift franchises, five years ago. In that time, Dream Doors has become a full member of the bfa, as well as being awarded the coveted bfa ‘Brand Builder of the Year Award’ in 2008. Becoming a bfa representative has meant spending time with some of the franchise world’s most distinguished and respected figures.

Chambers added: “There have been some nuggets of information that I have brought back to my day job. And while we’ve always invested a huge amount into supporting our franchise owners, it has been comforting to confirm that Dream Doors operates with the highest level of standards and ethics, and can stand alongside the biggest brands in the industry.”

Dream Doors specialises in kitchen door replacements, selling made-to-measure doors and complementary kitchen furniture from its 30 franchised showrooms. By retaining the existing units, but fitting new doors and drawers – and often worktops and a sink – a Dream Doors facelift offers customers a cost and time saving alternative to a complete kitchen refit.
