Since buying her franchise in 1995, it’s gone from strength to strength. In fact Thompson and her six-person team have just chalked-up an all-time record year’s trading to complete the office’s second decade,

Driver Hire Oxford provides a round-the-clock service to a wide variety of businesses. It is, perhaps, best known as a supplier of temporary and permanent commercial vehicle drivers to the road transport and logistics industry. However Thompson also supplies hospitality staff to local restaurants and organisers of major events through its subsidiary brand, dh Recruitment.

A past regional winner of the British Franchise Association (bfa) ‘Franchisee of the Year’ award, five years ago Thompson added industry essential Driver Certificate of Professional (CPC) training to the menu of services her business provides. It’s now one of Driver Hire’s top training offices delivering over 34,000 hours of Driver CPC training since 2010.

Thompson’s twenty year stint has made her one of the longest standing franchisees in Driver Hire’s 103-office nationwide network. Only two other franchisees have achieved this feat.

“I firmly believe that being a franchise – and therefore an owner-operated business – gives us more drive and an attention to detail that managed businesses find hard to match,” says Lorraine. “I’ve loved every minute of being a Driver Hire franchisee and certainly have no plans for an early exit. I’m excited and looking forward to continuing to meet the needs of all our customers.”
