With over 20 years of sales experience and the desire to provide excellent service levels, Mark Sanchez-Garcia found his perfect opportunity with Dublcheck
Before joining commercial cleaning franchise Dublcheck in 2009, Mark Sanchez-Garcia enjoyed a successful career within the sales and service sector. However, after being made redundant from his role as National Account Manager at a security firm, he decided to pursue his ambition of running his own business.
Mark had become frustrated with the lack of ambition, professionalism and customer-focus he encountered during his time in the service sector, so was eager to start a business that would offer an excellent service, as well as, outstanding customer care.
“Having seen terrible service levels over the years, I was keen to start my own business so I could oversee every aspect of the operation and ensure the highest of standards were met,” explains Mark.
“My wife and business partner, Carolyn, suggested we look into the commercial cleaning sector as it’s a strong industry with massive potential.”
Commercial cleaning is one of the best industries to join as a franchise owner because it’s a market that is more robust and recession resistant than most others, due to the fact the build-up of dirt never stops and every building, office and shop need regular cleaning.
Mark recognised that the best route forward was investing in an established brand with a proven business model, so decided to research opportunities within the franchise industry.
“I wanted to join a company that shared the same work ethic and values as me,” says Mark. “We looked at a couple of franchised businesses but Dublcheck stood out for us.”
To gain a genuine insight into the everyday operations of a Dublcheck franchise, Mark spoke with several existing franchise owners – they all praised Dublcheck and its franchise team.
Before launching their Dublcheck franchise, Mark and Carolyn attended a one-week induction course, which covered every aspect of the business from cleaning procedures to administration.
“By the end of the week I had a real understanding of the business and couldn’t wait to get started,” reveals Mark. “I come from a background in business-to-business sales so didn’t find that aspect of the business a problem at all, but for those who aren’t great with sales, Dublcheck is perfect as they can help secure accounts for you.”
The Dublcheck system puts its new franchise owners on the road to success by actually getting the business for them – so they know exactly what turnover to expect. Franchise owners can start with a minimum turnover of £14,000 per annum if they wish to run their franchise as a hands-on business. Alternatively, they can purchase a turnover of up to £500,000 per annum, if they want to run a management business.
Since launching their Dublcheck franchise, the couple have recruited a team of over 30 cleaners and have tripled their annual turnover.
“In the next few years we have ambitious plans for the business,” enthuses Mark. “We hope to achieve a £500,000 annual turnover, move our operation to office premises and secure more clients. We have established a solid customer base by providing excellent services and will continue to do so.
“I’m very pleased with how the business is progressing and love being my own boss,” continues Mark. “It’s great that I’m able to make a difference, which is why I started this business in the first place.”
