Dublcheck franchise owner Ian Basford was so impressed with the performance of his commercial cleaning franchise that he secured a second territory to further his business expansion
After many years of working in demanding and time consuming roles, Ian Basford (pictured top) decided to pursue a career that would allow him to reap the rewards of his hard work.
“I lost my job as Commercial Director in 2006 when the company I worked for went bankrupt,” explains Ian. “It was at this point that I decided to take control of my future and start a business that was going to work for me. In the past I worked long hours for other people so the thought of directly seeing the rewards of my efforts was very appealing.”
An Accountant by trade, Ian took on a part-time job as Finance Manager at a local school while he searched for his perfect business opportunity.
“I knew that I wanted to go into commercial cleaning,” says Ian, “as it’s a solid, reliable concept – schools, factories and businesses will always need cleaning.
