Travel brand strikes balance between consultant advice and online booking

Explorer Travel, a travel agency brand with a 10-year pedigree, is expanding nationwide via franchising to accommodate the growing numbers of holidaymakers who book online and exploit the subsequent decline of high street travel agencies.

'Traditional high street travel agents are disappearing,' confirms a spokesperson for the company. 'More and more of us are turning our backs on the highstreet and using the internet to find our dream holiday, but this brings many problems.

'Some surfers try to piece together their own travel itinerary booking flights, hotels and car hire separately. Less intrepid surfers attempt to navigate well-known branded travel websites for the perfect break, but large travel websites can be difficult to navigate and doing it yourself has its dangers, such as not being insured by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) or Air Travel Organisers' Licensing (ATOL).'

Established more than 10 years ago, Explorer Travel offers a balance between online holiday booking and expert advice from a travel consultant with ABTA and ATOL bonding protection. The company adds: 'As part of Worldchoice, a £1 billion travel trade association with over 600 retail outlets, we offer clients maximum choice at internet prices from over 150 tour operators, all the cruise companies, 60,000 hotels, villas and apartments and 500 airlines worldwide.'

Explorer Travel is now recruiting franchisees, who will have their own Explorer Travel website with an online 'Holiday and Late Deals' search facility, online booking, training, administration, ongoing support, a laptop computer, travel trade technology, call management and enquiries for a low investment of £10,000 plus VAT.
