Franchise Owner Testimonial
When Bevan Mayall went to work for an existing franchise owner, little did he know that within two years he would be one himself. Now, five years later (and still only 32) he and his father-in-law, Steve, own and operate the fifth largest franchise within the Express Worldwide UK system.
"I liked the concept from the beginning", says Bevan, "and was very impressed with the performance of the franchise in Leeds that I worked for. I was selling a service that businesses regularly used but now I was bringing them large discounts and saving them money. It wasn't hard and when I saw the money the franchise owner was making, I decided to have a go myself. It's one of the best things I ever did!" Express Worldwide is one of the largest international resellers of express parcel and transportation services with offices in the UK, the USA and Australia.
By combining the delivery volume from hundreds of thousands of small businesses worldwide, it uses bulk-buying power to negotiate large discounts from the major international carriers such as DHL, FedEx and UPS and then pass these savings onto their customers. It offers up to 30 per cent savings on delivery costs and provides a back-up service to ensure every package arrives at its destination on time, anywhere in the world. The carriers provide the pickup, logistics and deliveries, while Express Worldwide performs the customer services and invoicing.
Bevan, who bought the franchise for Bradford and later on bought the franchise for Huddersfield, adds: "We are showing that superior customer service and savings are not only reserved for larger companies. This world-class product has enabled us to do a little under £700,000 in revenue during 2009 and we are planning a 30 per cent growth this year."
