FDS Midlands provides a full range of recruitment advertising and consultancy services, all targeted at the lucrative franchise market. This well-established and highly respected limited company has operated successfully for a period of 16 years, serving the whole of Central England and Wales. The company assists established franchisors to recruit franchise owners and helps businesses of all kinds to expand via franchising. Its main media for advertising are The Franchise Magazine and The UK Franchise Directory website, both fully owned and operated by the franchisor, Franchise Development Services Ltd.

The new owner will require good sales, business and presentational skills combined – ideally but not necessarily – with personal experience of the franchise industry. The business is currently operated from a home-based office in Lichfield and, under the terms of its franchise licence, must continue to be located within the East or West Midlands region.

For each of the past nine years, advertising revenue has exceeded £250,000. Much of this advertising revenue is of a recurring nature and relationships with the clients have been built on mutual respect over many years. There is also considerable potential to generate revenue from consultancy – a revenue stream no longer available to the present owner due to ill health. The additional potential is estimated to be in the region of £75,000 per annum, based on the average revenue generated from this source by other FDS territories.

The purchase price will be realistically negotiated using an agreed multiple of net profit. The present owner and franchisor are both committed to providing the eventual purchaser with a substantial amount of training and personal hands-on assistance with all aspects of the business.
