Bains decided to take to the skies in order to raise money for two causes particularly close to his heart, The Road Victims Trust and The Highfield School.
The initial target, as set on Bain’s JustGiving page, https://www.justgiving.com/JessBains, was to raise £500. At the time of writing that target had been surpassed and currently stands in excess of £650, with further donations sure to follow.
Bains said of his experience: “It was the most exhilarating thing I have ever experienced. The plane seemed to take an eternity to reach the right altitude. When we reached 10,000 feet it was time for the jump and all I could see was clouds, then we jumped. I am told that we reached speeds close to 120mph for about thirty seconds. It was absolutely amazing.”
Qualified as a business valuer by the Institution of Commercial and Business Agents, Bains joined FDS, the UK’s most experienced franchise consultants and publishers, in 2012.
