For the fourth year in a row, the Franchise Business Award will reward a franchisor that has achieved great success internationally.

In 2010, with Morocco the guest of honour at this year's Franchise Expo in Paris, this prestigious prize will go to a Moroccan concept. The aim of the award, launched by the French Franchise Federation, Franchise Expo Paris and Reed Expositions France, is to encourage the development of a brand beyond its national borders.

The winner of the 2010 Franchise Business Award is MARWA

The award ceremony will take place at 7 pm on 15 March 2010 at Franchise Expo Paris In 2003, after many years spent in the fashion industry, Karim Tazi, textiles manufacturer and onetime representative of La Redoute in Morocco, launched his own clothing range: Marwa.

Based on the concept of making affordable high-quality fashion, Marwa offers a wide and diversified line of clothing and accessories for the metropolitan woman in the 20-45 age group that is both fashionable and reasonably priced.

The leading Moroccan brand of its kind, the strength of Marwa's product range is its original blend of fashion and tradition, as well as the fortnightly renewal of its collections, offering customers a constant stream of new designs.

The Marwa concept was devised with international development in mind. Marwa is gradually making a name for itself in fashion markets worldwide.

In 2003, two shops were opened simultaneously in Rabat and Casablanca, two of Morocco's largest cities where the brand immediately shot to success.

In 2008, the first outlet was opened in Europe.

By 2009, the number of shops in Morocco had reached 19, with 2 in Spain and 1 in Saudi Arabia. In addition to recognising its qualities as a franchisor and its development capability, the panel was impressed by the excellent reputation the brand has established.
