Doors Score For Franchise Owner, Peter Morrison

Regional finalist and bronze medal winner in the bfa/HSBC Franchisee Of The Year 2010 awards, Peter Morrison (pictured) has enthusiastically embraced Granite Transformations' kitchen refacing concept, because of the extra revenue opportunities it generates.

Initially concerned that replacement doors might dilute the core product offering, he is now fitting five or six complete kitchen installations each month, bringing in valuable incremental sales and profit. Granite Transformations is also fast becoming the luxury brand of choice for kitchen door replacement, reflecting its established premium worktop positioning.

Peter, who has showrooms in Cambridge and Essex, is one of almost 200 Granite Transformations franchise owners worldwide and has built up a highly successful business with sales now comfortably exceeding £1 million.

A focus on quality assurance has reduced his customer call-back rate, for snagging and minor repairs, to one of the lowest in the network, while various cost control measures and operational efficiencies have helped maximise net profit – one of the hallmarks of any successful franchise operation.

Carefully-researched showroom locations enable him to attract passing trade in two lucrative catchment areas and value-added commercial installations augment the overall revenue mix, most notably at nearby Cambridge University where the ‘top that fits on top’ has now gained varsity honours.
