GYMBOREE was founded in 1976 and today there are over 400 franchisees in 25 countries around the world. In the UK, there are 15 Gymboree franchisees with the plan to double this by 2006.

Gymboree offers a wide range of classes for families and children from newborn through to age 5. All classes are curriculum-based and feature their own equipment, props and music. Classes offered include gym, music, arts, sport, theatre arts, infant signing, fitness and yoga. Franchisees should be enthusiastic, energetic and able to engage children and parents.

Gymboree requires a strong owner presence and therefore is best suited to individuals who are able to make this type of commitment. Gymboree expects all franchisees to work hands-on at their business including teaching classes. Full training is provided and no formal childcare certification is required.
