Performing arts school franchise LIPA 4:19 has found that more young girls aspire to be like multi-talented teen actors than WAGs and glamour models. In a survey conducted by LIPA 4:19, 41 per cent of girls between 10 and 16 said they aspire to be American actress and singer Miley Cyrus. She was followed by Lea Michelle, who stars as Rachel in the television show Glee. 81 per cent said they chose the actresses because "they're talented and the best at what they do", rather than simply because they're "rich and famous".

Just three per cent of girls questioned chose glamour model Jordan and only two per cent selected WAG Alex Curran. The survey also found that only eight per cent want to be famous at any cost. USA first lady Michelle Obama was the third most popular in the poll.

LIPA 4:19 Head of Franchises, Kerry Watkins, said: "After years of WAGs and glamour models dominating the public eye it's heartening to see that young girls are now looking up to role models with more substance.

"Shows like Glee and High School Musical have really reinforced the value of developing talent and working hard and their popularity has heightened demand for performing arts education.

"We've had a real boost in the number of kids attending our Saturday classes and also in terms of enquiries from schools, all keen to tap into this new phenomenon.

"We've already set up on franchise within a high school and it's been incredibly popular with the local community and students, as well as providing additional revenue for the school."
